UC Santa Barbara coasts past The Master’s 80-60

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (AP) — Taran Brown and Alan Williams each contributed a double-double on Saturday night, and UC Santa Barbara coasted past The Master’s College 80-60 for its first victory of the season.

Brown had 20 points and 13 rebounds and Williams had 17 points and 12 rebounds.

UC Santa Barbara (1-2) had a 50-31 rebounding advantage.

Three other players scored in double figures for the Gauchos — Nate Garth (12), Kyle Boswell (11) and T.J. Taylor (10).

The Master’s College (4-2) got 19 points from Leif Karlberg, 16 points from Devin Dyer and 11 points and 11 rebounds from Jason Logan.

The Master’s College shot only eight free throws, making eight, and was just 7 of 26 from 3-point range.
