Unbeaten Bucknell rolls over West Alabama 69-52

LEWISTON, N.Y. (AP) — Mike Muscala scored 14 points and Cameron Ayers and Bryson Johnson got 11 each as unbeaten Bucknell coasted past West Alabama 69-52 Sunday.

The Bison (5-0) led by 30 points, 61-31 with 10:06 remaining, before the Tigers, a Division II team that counted the 2K Sports Classic subregional game as an exhibition, scored 21 of the final 29 points.

Ayers and Johnson each scored nine points in the first half, when Bucknell built a 38-24 lead. The Bison closed the half with an 8-0 run, including two baskets by Ayers.

The run continued with 11 consecutive Bucknell points at the start of the second half, including seven by Muscala.

After holding New Mexico State to 29.7 percent shooting in a 62-49 win Saturday in the subregional, the Bison limited West Alabama to 33.9 percent (19 of 56).

DeMarco Spears scored 14 points to pace the Tigers.
