Banks, Alabama A&M rout Oakwood 103-77

NORMAN, Ala. (AP) — Justin Colvin knocked down five 3-pointers en route to 19 points and Justan Banks recorded a double-double to help Alabama A&M beat Oakwood 103-77 Tuesday night.

Banks finished with 18 points and 14 rebounds for Alabama A&M, which outrebounded Oakwood 50-31.

Alabama A&M (2-2) led 26-23 before closing the half on a 30-16 run to go into the break ahead 56-39. The Bulldogs shot 51.3 percent (20 of 39) from the field and made eight 3-pointers in the first half.

Alabama A&M stepped up the defensive intensity in the second half. The Bulldogs held Oakwood to 34.6 percent (9 of 26) — down from 44 percent (11 of 25) — in the second half. Seven of Oakwood’s nine makes came from 3-point range.

Brandon Ellis and Green Hill chipped in 12 and 11 points, respectively, for Alabama A&M and Dave Daly led Oakwood (2-4) with 19.
