A man driving a stolen car escaped capture after refusing to stop for police and brushing against a sheriff’s patrol car in the Five Corners area early Wednesday.
The incident started just after 4 a.m. near Northeast 76th Street and Covington Road, according to a bulletin from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office.
Patrol deputy Scott Kirgiss saw a silver Honda driving recklessly through a neighborhood and attempted to stop it, Sgt. Fred Neiman said. The vehicle sped away.
When Kirgiss attempted another stop in a cul-de-sac, the driver turned and accelerated and brushed against the bumper of the patrol car, Neiman said.
