ST. LOUIS (AP) — St. Louis Rams receiver Danny Amendola didn’t practice and was wearing a walking boot on his right foot.

Center Scott Wells practiced Wednesday, a day after being activated as the team’s marquee injury reserve player. Wells, who broke a bone in his left foot in the opener, was confident he’d be ready to start Sunday at Arizona.

Amendola was injured making a cut on a pattern near the end of the first half last week against the Jets, grabbing his heel after going down, and hopped off the field. He finished the game, however, and had seven catches for 41 yards.

On the season, Amendola has 50 receptions with a 10.8-yard average and two touchdowns.

Coach Jeff Fisher said running back Steven Jackson was held out Wednesday as a rest day, though the injury report had Jackson with a foot ailment. Linebacker Mario Haggan still had his right arm in a sling after what appeared to be a serious elbow injury in the loss to the Jets.
