Gray scores 16, Cornell defeats Presbyterian 89-55

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Johnathan Gray scored 16 points to lead Cornell to an 89-55 victory over Presbyterian on Friday in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational.

Gray was 5 of 10 from the field.

Nolan Cressler scored 14. Shonn Miller scored 10 and had a team-high five rebounds. Eitan Chemerinski added 13. Devin Cherry, who was 5 of 5 from the field, scored 13 points for the Big Red (2-4).

Cornell never trailed in the game. The Big Red shot 53.3 percent from the field in the first half and held a 45-28 lead at halftime. In the second half, Cornell improved its accuracy to 60 percent from the field.

Khalid Mutakabbir had 17 points and seven rebounds for Presbyterian (0-5). Jordan Downing added 14 points.
