Longwood beats Florida A&M 86-83 in overtime

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Tristan Carey scored a career-high 30 points to lead Longwood to an 86-83 overtime victory against Florida A&M on Friday afternoon in the Continental Tire Las Vegas Invitational.

Carey was 7 of 9 from 3-point range, and he finished the game with eight rebounds.

Nik Brown scored a career-high 21 points and led the team with six assists.

Michael Kessens scored 14 points and made 16 rebounds. Jeylani Dublin added 11 points, 11 rebounds.

The Lancers (1-4), who led 34-33 at halftime, were 31 of 62 from the field for the game (50 percent). The Rattlers were 33 of 68 from the field (48.5 percent).

Jamie Adams scored 26 points for the Rattlers (0-5). Jamari Bradshaw had 18 points. Muhamme Abdul-Aleen came off the bench to scored 14 points. and Markee Teal scored 14. Walter Davis had eight rebounds.

The score was tied at 73 at the end of regulation.
