Letter: Future bright with today’s youth

The Columbian
Published: November 23, 2012, 4:00pm

I’m writing in response to Christiana Nguyen’s well-written letter of Nov. 19, “Don’t be tempted by energy drinks.” I’m encouraged and proud to know there are bright and hard-working teens, such as Nguyen, in our community. I hope she continues making good decisions to keep her mind and body healthy.

Some teens (and many adults) resort to caffeine, alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, and other drugs to relieve the pressures of life. Some go on daily in a mental fog under the influence of these substances, not to mention how this places risks and burden onto our society.

I greatly appreciate Nguyen’s efforts in being a concerned and productive member of our community. Best wishes to her for a bright future.
