VESTAL, N.Y. (AP) — Jordan Reed scored 21 points and Binghamton, after a close first half, ran away from Division III Marywood (Pa.) 76-51 Saturday night.
The Bearcats (2-4) of the America East, who lost their first four games, have now won two straight. Reed, the 6-foot-4 freshman guard who scored 17 points in a win over St. Peter’s while grabbing a school-record 18 rebounds, posted another double-double. He took 11 rebounds as Binghamton outscored Marywood 37-21 in the second half.
Binghamton led by just 39-30 at the break but opened the second half on a 22-3 run to lead 61-33. With less than 8 minutes left, the margin was 34 points, 70-36.
Jimmy Gray had 15 points for Binghamton, which had 21 offensive rebounds and outscored Marywood (1-2) 30-15 off turnovers. The Bearcats’ bench outscored Marywood’s 41-10.
Matt Tintle led Marywood with 19 points and Ryan Corrigan added 10.
