Letter: Plan long-term for healthy gains

The Columbian
Published: November 26, 2012, 4:00pm

I have one response to two recent letters on Nov. 14, Bill Fisher’s “The answer is still ‘no’ on light rail” and Adam Redman’s “Drill on home turf in Arctic.” Even with some facts and some logic on your side, you can still be on wrong side.

Opponents of light rail and supporters of Arctic drilling have something important in common. They are willing to buy short-term gain for long-term pain.

That’s not the way to grow a healthy country.
