Girls basketball: Ridgefield 40, Stevenson 37

Brooke Kates scored 11 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter, leading the Spudders to a comeback victory.

The win was the first for new coach David Heim.

Shannon Boyle led Ridgefield with 17 points.

Heim also credited sophomore Abby Smithline for her defense and rebounding off the bench.

Courtney Bradley led Stevenson with 21 points.
