Habitat for Humanity to hold annual fundraiser on Oct. 11

The Rev. Marilyn Sewell will be keynote speaker for Evergreen Habitat for Humanity’s “Raising the Roof” fundraising breakfast Oct. 11.

The ninth annual event will begin with check-in at 7 a.m. at the Hilton Vancouver Washington, 301 W. Sixth St.

Proceeds will help build new homes in Clark County during the next year.

Sewell was senior minister at the First Unitarian Church of Portland when she retired in 2009 after 17 years there. She is an editor, poet, writer, Huffington Post blogger and radio contributor, as well as subject of the documentary “Raw Faith.”

Other speakers will describe the effect Evergreen Habitat for Humanity has had on their lives.

The nonprofit has built 24 homes in Clark County since 1991.
