COOKEVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Marques Ivory threw for 268 yards and a touchdown, while DaMarcus James rushed for 130 yards and a score to help Jacksonville State rally to beat Tennessee Tech 37-28 Saturday night.
Down 28-16 late in the third quarter, it was Coty Blanchard who got the Gamecocks (3-2, 2-1 Ohio Valley Conference) on the road to a comeback, though. His 27-yard rushing score pulled Jacksonville State to within five points before Ivory connected with Telvin Brown for an 86-yard touchdown and a 30-28 advantage.
Washaun Ealey, a transfer from Georgia, ran for a 1-yard score for the final margin. Ealey finished with 55 yards rushing, and Blanchard had 44.
The Gamecocks rolled up 566 total yards compared to 266 for the Golden Eagles. They also forced two Tennessee Tech turnovers.
Tre Lamb led Tennessee Tech (2-4, 0-3) with 171 passing yards with a touchdown, and 41 rushing yards and a score.
