Letter: Job well done by city crews

Published: October 7, 2012, 5:00pm

I can’t say enough good things about Vancouver’s street maintenance department. Those folks are great. Each time I have called to ask for something to be repaired or maintained they have been “Johnny-on-the-spot.” About 18 years ago I called to ask for stop signs on my street and they came right out and put them up. This was after neighbors had complained loudly. Another time it was bushes hanging over the sidewalk. Just goes to show that kindness works with everyone, doesn’t it?

There have been several other incidents that I could bring up but this time it was the condition of my street. It was in pretty bad shape and now it is in good shape thanks to the city maintenance department. They did an outstanding job and deserve a hearty “well done.”
