Letter: Republicans show their stripes

The Columbian
Published: October 8, 2012, 5:00pm

Well, the Republicans have shown their true colors in the name of their nominee for president, Mitt Romney. Their disdain for anyone not wealthy enough to hide their fortune in the Cayman Islands has raised its ugly head in the form of Romney’s “47 percent” comments to his $50,000-a-plate audience. Maybe four years from now, the GOP will have such a poor field of candidates, like they did this time, that they will have to nominate Clint Eastwood at age 86. At least he won’t need to find a running mate, he has an empty chair.
