Orchards — The Modern Woodmen of America’s Youth Service Club of Vancouver took the Mount Hood Railroad to Parkdale, Ore., in the Columbia River Gorge on Sept. 29 and saw apple and pear orchards along the way. The children enjoyed feeding the fish at the Bonneville Hatchery. On Oct. 4, the service club raised $285 at a yard sale, and Modern Woodmen matched the donation. A total of $570 was donated to Haven’s Hidden Treasures Animal Rescue Farm owned by Maria and Jobier Allinger.
