PITTSBURGH (AP) — Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker Larry Foote says the team has one hand on the panic button — but not two — after a rocky 2-3 start.
The Steelers remained winless on the road following a 26-23 loss to Tennessee last week, a game in which starting offensive linemen Maurkice Pouncey and Marcus Gilbert went out with injuries. Things got worse over the weekend for rookie nose tackle Alameda Ta’amu, who was arrested early Sunday morning and charged with three felonies among a dozen other charges following a run-in with police.
Safety Ryan Clark says the team will not exile Ta’amu, a fourth-round pick in the draft, but added the team does not condone Ta’amu’s behavior.
The Steelers insist the arrest is not a distraction and they’ll be ready on Sunday in Cincinnati.
