Letter: Hope for community to rebuild

The Columbian
Published: October 16, 2012, 5:00pm

I am so saddened to read of the fire and complete destruction of the Sikh gurdwara, located in the former Landover Athletic Club. I am aware that the circumstances of the fire are still under investigation and answers as to its origin will ultimately be determined by the appropriate agencies. In the meantime, it is my sincere hope that this disastrous fire was just an unfortunate accident, for there is no place in our Vancouver community for other scenarios.

My heart goes out to the entire Sikh community. Please rebuild your place of worship. Our diversity makes our community richer, stronger and more vital. You have friends and neighbors here willing to offer you encouragement and hope for the future.
