Esther Short — Gifts For Our Community, the nonprofit organization that opened the Divine Consign furniture shop in downtown Vancouver in 2005, recently announced that it made $49,000 in donations to local charities over the past year. The funds were distributed in the form of donated furniture — and through direct grants to numerous charities.

“Our community is so fortunate to have such wonderful charities striving to meet the needs of our citizens,” said board chairman Lee Rafferty. “But, as we all know, the need often exceeds the charities’ abilities to meet them.” Divine Consign is operated mostly by volunteers and now includes Divine Again, an upholstery shop, and Divine Bites, a gourmet cupcake shop, all located in one divine location: 904 Main Street.
