Golden, Miami bracing for huge FSU test

MIAMI (AP) — Florida State coach Jimbo Fisher has reason for concern.

First, even Miami coach Al Golden has insisted several times this week that the 12th-ranked Seminoles are ahead of the Hurricanes these days. And the oddsmakers aren’t arguing with Golden, since they made Florida State a huge favorite over Miami for their rivalry game on Saturday night.

Fisher isn’t liking any of it.

He remembers two weeks ago, when the Seminoles were big favorites and lost at North Carolina State — a defeat that probably will keep Florida State from the national-title picture. Painful as that game was, it’s become a teaching point for Florida State this week, a reminder that even big favorites need to show up and play.
