THE CLARK COUNTY MAYORS’ AND CIVIC LEADERS’ PRAYER BREAKFAST will begin at 7 a.m. at Hilton Vancouver Washington, main ballroom, 301 W. Sixth St. The breakfast is sponsored by Clark County chapters of Full Gospel Business Men’s Fellowship in America. Camas Mayor Scott Higgins is the host mayor. Greg Romine, who went from dealing drugs as a young adult to training leaders worldwide, is the testimonial speaker. The keynote speaker is Linda Smith, who founded Shared Hope International in 1998. OTHER CHURCH NEWS

THE REV. KATHLEEN “KIT” NEELEY will be installed as pastor of Family of Christ Lutheran Church, 3500 N.W. 12th St., during the worship service at 11 a.m. Sunday. Robert D. Hofstad, bishop of the Southwest Washington Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America, will preach and preside at the installation. The service will be followed by a luncheon reception. There will be only one service Sunday.

White Salmon

LAY SUPPORTERS OF PACIFIC HERMITAGE, a small Buddhist monastery in White Salmon, will have a potluck and traditional Thai alms-giving ceremony called a Pah Bah at Mountain View Grange, 1085 N. Main Ave., White Salmon. The potluck begins at 11 a.m. Oct. 28, with the ceremony following at 12:30. Tours of the nearby Pacific Hermitage will begin at 3 p.m., with shuttles departing from the grange. English will be the primary language, although there will be some chanting in Pali, the language of the Buddha. The ceremony does not include meditation.
