DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (AP) — Quentin Williams’ two touchdowns and a stingy defense helped Bethune-Cookman dominate Norfolk State 48-3 Saturday.

Bethune-Cookman (5-2, 4-0 Mid-Eastern Athletic Conference) scored on its first possession as Williams found Eddie Poole for a 5-yard touchdown and an early 7-0 lead. Williams completed 9 of 11 passes for 157 yards.

Norfolk State’s (2-6, 0-5) offense was unable to move the ball the entire game.

The Wildcats’ impressive defense was on display when D.J. Howard returned a fumble 69 yards for the touchdown to give Bethune-Cookman a 14-0 lead.

Bethune-Cookman scored the next 20 points before Everett Goldberg’s 33-yard field goal made it 34-3 going into halftime.

Brodrick Waters scored the only points of the third quarter, running it in from 8 yards, boosting the lead to 41-3. Waters finished with 103 yards on nine carries.

Bethune-Cookman’s defense forced two fumbles and an interception, while allowing just 75 yards on the ground.
