Entrepreneurs of a proposed business called The Great Indoor Playground have submitted a pre-application for the project, which would be located off Northeast 117th Avenue at 66th Street in a former Auto Zone store.

The planned venue would include 7,700 square feet of indoor playground equipment, with a separate section for children ages 6 months to 3 years. Another section with climbing bars, slides and obstacle courses is aimed at children up to 12 years.

Husband-and-wife business owners Brian and Lisa Cernius are behind the proposal. They expect it to open in February. Brian Cernius expects to invest about $800,000 to start up the business, which will employ between five and 10 people and also include a parent seating area and café-style restaurant.
