Barrett Business Services Inc. on Wednesday reported a third-quarter profit of $5.8 million, or 81 cents per share. That’s compared with a profit of $5.4 million, or 54 cents per share, in the July-to-September period in 2011.

The Vancouver-based company’s third-quarter revenue was $111.1 million, up 30 percent year over year. That compares with revenue of $85.4 million in the third quarter of 2011.

The company’s financial results are due, in part, to “proactive investments we have made in our operational infrastructure and professional talent, which have evolved BBSI into a much more mature company,” Michael Elich, president and CEO of the company, said in a news release.

Barrett Business Services provides human resource outsourcing and professional management consulting services.
