NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Tyree Lee rushed for 128 yards and a touchdown and Taylor Heinicke ran for three scores as Old Dominion defeated Delaware 31-26 Saturday.

Heinicke, who was leading the Football Championship Subdivision in touchdown passes with 24, didn’t throw for any but completed 36 of 45 passes for 375 yards.

The Monarchs (7-1, 4-1 Colonial Athletic Association) led 21-17 at halftime after Heinicke scored on a 22-yard run and twice from 1 yard out. Lee broke free for a 50-yard burst in the third quarter and later scored from the 9 to make it 28-17.

Delaware (5-3, 2-3) cut it to 28-20 on a field goal and to 28-26 on Tim Hurley’s 13-yard touchdown pass to Nihja White in the fourth quarter. But after a false start penalty, a two-point conversion try failed.

Old Dominion tacked on a field goal with 1:17 left, and Devon Simmons’ interception sealed the win.
