MONROE, La. (AP) — Kolton Browning threw for 250 yards and four touchdowns, all caught by Brent Leonard, to lead Louisiana-Monroe to a 38-24 victory over South Alabama on Saturday night.

Leonard’s fourth TD reception tied a single-game record for Louisiana-Monroe (6-2, 4-0 Sun Belt Conference), set by Stepfret Williams at Nevada on Oct. 14, 1995. Leonard caught nine passes for 126 yards.

South Alabama (2-6, 1-3) tied the game at 21 early in the third quarter, but the Warhawks’ Mitchell Bell ran 32 yards for a touchdown with 2:30 left in the period to lead 28-21. Leonard caught his fourth TD pass on a two-play drive — he grabbed both passes, one for 39 yards and the 24-yard score — early in the fourth to establish a 38-21 lead.

South Alabama’s Ross Metheny threw for 211 yards and two touchdowns, both to Jereme Jones, and Demetre Baker rushed for 115 yards.
