CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Scott Lathrop rushed for 179 yards and two touchdowns, and Levi Terrell added 137 yards and two scores to lead Southeast Missouri State to a 48-27 victory over Austin Peay on Saturday.

The Redhawks’ final touchdown added insult to injury. Austin Peay had closed to 41-27 and reached the Redhawks’ 2-yard line, but Reco Williams fumbled. It was recovered by Branden Spann, who returned it 98 yards for the score.

The Governors outgained the Redhawks 440 to 435 yards, but Southeast Missouri (3-5, 2-3 Ohio Valley Conference) rushed 62 times for 399 yards to keep the ball away from Austin Peay’s offense. Lathrop threw only nine passes, completing two.

The Governors’ Jake Ryan passed for 304 yards and three touchdowns, Devin Stark caught nine passes for 145 yards and two touchdowns, and Williams rushed for 133 yards and a score for Austin Peay (0-8, 0-6).
