Letter: Woman’s place is out front as equal

The Columbian
Published: October 28, 2012, 5:00pm

I hope the women of America wake up to what Republicans are trying to do to us. No equal pay. No birth control. No abortion for incest or rape. Soon they will be making women wear chastity belts from puberty to menopause.

From what is being reported, there are no equals between men and women. The Republican Party is going back to the old days of “keeping women in the kitchen!”

I have lived through 82 years of women working toward equality and having our worth recognized.

I know my place, and I hope every woman knows her place, as well. Our place is up in front as equal partners with men, receiving equal pay and making our own decisions about our own bodies.

Let our voices be heard on Nov. 6 — send in your ballots.
