Letter: Romney, Ryan shun the 47 percent

The Columbian
Published: October 29, 2012, 5:00pm

As a committed Christian, I am offended by the Mitt Romney/Paul Ryan campaign claim to support Christian family values. My understanding of The Gospel is that we are to care for “the least of these.”

Oh yes, Paul Ryan’s inspiration has been Ayn Rand, the atheist philosopher, who says the vulnerable need to take care of themselves.

They have promised their party to cut Medicare and education and repeal health care. Saying otherwise in debates and inserting God’s name a few times does not convince me.

Romney and Ryan do not care for the 47 percent. I do, so I will vote for President Obama.
