The Clark-Vancouver Regional Drug Task Force on Monday arrested a man suspected of trafficking large amounts of methamphetamine and cocaine into Clark County.

Detectives stopped a car driven by Damian Tapia-Arellana, 49, of Vancouver around 12:30 a.m. Monday morning near Mill Plain Boulevard and Interstate 205, task force Cmdr. Mike Cooke said. Detectives searched the man’s car and found about 8 pounds of meth and a half pound of cocaine.

After the traffic stop, detectives searched Tapia-Arellano’s home at 7421 Delaware Lane in Vancouver and found evidence related to drug trafficking, Cooke said.

Tapia-Arellano was booked at the Clark County Jail on suspicion of possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

The arrest comes after a long investigation.
