WASHINGTON (AP) — Redskins general manager Bruce Allen said he’s left the door open for re-signing tight end Chris Cooley.
The Redskins released Cooley on Aug. 28 after he spent eight years with the team.
Cooley has caught 428 passes for 4,703 yards and 33 touchdowns in his career, including eight catches for 65 yards last season.
Allen, speaking at The National Press Club on Tuesday, was also asked whether the Redskins have considered changing their nickname.
“No,” he said sternly.
