GALVESTON, Texas (AP) — A mixed martial arts fighter in Texas has been charged in the 2011 shooting death of a man on a bicycle after the pair apparently argued.

Galveston police say 23-year-old Ralph Garcia “Plexin Texan” Jr. of Galveston has been charged with murder.

Police Chief Henry Porretto says investigators do not believe Garcia knew 27-year-old Maxie Troy Flowers of Galveston. Flowers was found dead last Oct. 13 on a street. Porretto says police are investigating whether the two men happened to cross paths, got into an argument and Garcia felt disrespected.

Galveston County Jail records show Garcia was being held Friday on $500,000 bond. Online records did not list an attorney for Garcia, who was arrested Wednesday night at a training center.
