TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A Tulane football player has been seriously injured and taken to a hospital after colliding with a teammate during a game with Tulsa.

Tulane assistant athletic director Roger Dunaway confirmed Devon Walker was hurt and taken off the field in an ambulance that transported him to a Tulsa hospital on Saturday. Dunaway says he didn’t know what type of injury Walker sustained or his medical condition.

The injury occurred on the last play of the first half. Walker had a helmet-to-helmet collision with teammate Julius Warmsley while trying to tackle Tulsa back Willie Carter. Walker then rolled on his back and didn’t move.
