RENTON, Wash. (AP) — Of the 70 offensive plays the Seattle Seahawks ran against Arizona, more than half came in the Cardinals’ half of the field.
And that makes the Seahawks’ 20-16 loss even more difficult for Carroll to accept.
Seattle had plenty of chances, starting all the way back in the first quarter and ending when Russell Wilson’s pass for Braylon Edwards at the goal line fell incomplete on fourth-down with 18 seconds remaining.
Carroll said Monday he was disappointed in the way the Seahawks offensive line protected its rookie quarterback. He said Arizona continually brought pressure on Wilson, but his linemen needed to be better.
If there was one piece of good news, it’s that offensive tackle Russell Okung suffered just a bone bruise in his left knee and could play this week against Dallas.
