Businesses in Ridgefield will need to reprogram their cash registers to reflect changes in sales tax rates beginning Oct. 1.

The city has repealed the Transportation Benefit District. As a result, the sales and use tax within that district will decrease by two-tenths of 1 percent.

The changes also affect portions of Chelan, Douglas, Pierce, and Walla Walla counties. More information is available online at Local Sales Tax Change Notices. The Washington Department of Revenue encourages businesses to sign up for the sales tax rate change listserv to get notices of future changes in local sales tax rates.
