CHICAGO (AP) — The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Ryan Raburn on the 15-day disabled list Thursday with a strained right quadriceps.

Raburn had only played in three games since missing over a month with a right thumb problem.

Tigers manager Jim Leyland had said repeatedly throughout Detroit’s series with the Chicago White Sox that Raburn was being held out of the lineup because he looked “sluggish.” Raburn is hitting .171 with one homer and 12 RBI in 205 at-bats. The move is retroactive to Sept. 11.
