NORFOLK, Va. (AP) — Taylor Heinicke had another big early-season game for Old Dominion, tossing seven touchdown passes and running for another as the Monarchs crushed Campbell 70-14 Saturday night.
Heinicke, who was 21 of 29 for 486 yards, now has 1,191 yards passing on the season already for Old Dominion (3-0). He also ran for 41 yards on eight carries for the Monarchs, who set a school record for points in a game.
Blair Roberts caught three of his four balls for touchdowns, setting an Old Dominion school record for receiving TDs in a game.
It was all Heinicke from the start, as the sophomore quarterback opened the scoring with a 13-yard run less than three minutes into the game. He followed that up with three first-quarter TD passes, putting the Monarchs up 28-0 on the Camels (1-2) after one quarter and the game out of reach as Heinicke and company rolled on.
