A motorcycle rider was injured Saturday when he crashed on Northeast 112th Avenue in Vancouver, according to the Vancouver Fire Department.

The crash occurred about 5:54 p.m. near VFD’s Station 6, 3216 N.E. 112th Ave., said fire Capt. Kevin Murray. Passers-by knocked on the station doors to alert firefighters inside to the crash. Paramedics found the man on a lawn next to the station.

Murray said the motorcyclist, a man in his 20s, was wearing a helmet but suffered significant lower-body trauma. He was taken by ambulance to PeaceHealth Southwest Medical Center. The man’s injuries were not believed to be life-threatening, Murray said.

The Vancouver Police Department is investigating the crash. The man’s name was not available.
