BUFFALO, N.Y. (AP) — The Buffalo Sabres have re-signed forward Tyler Ennis to a two-year contract.

A person familiar with the contract said the deal is worth $5.625 million. The person spoke on the condition of anonymity because the Sabres did not disclose financial terms in announcing the signing Saturday.

Ennis was a restricted free agent, whose rights had been retained by the team in June.

He completed his second full NHL season last year, and was the second of Buffalo’s two first-round picks in the 2009 draft. Ennis had 15 goals and 19 assists in 48 games last season, and missed 17 games due to an ankle injury. The fast-skating playmaker, who has split time at wing and center, has 38 goals and 54 assists in 140 career games.
