Gelana, Kiplagat, Kipsang to run NYC Marathon

NEW YORK (AP) — Olympic medalists Tiki Gelana, Tatyana Arkhipova and Wilson Kipsang will run this year’s New York City Marathon.

Ethiopia’s Gelana won gold and Russia’s Arkhipova bronze in the women’s race in London. The Nov. 4 field will also include defending champion Firehiwot Dado of Ethiopia and 2010 winner Edna Kiplagat of Kenya, the reigning world champ.

Kenya’s Kipsang took bronze in the Olympic men’s marathon. Other international stars announced Tuesday include reigning Chicago Marathon champ Moses Mosop of Kenya and 2010 New York winner Gebre Gebremariam of Ethiopia.
