Letter: Romney’s reaction is alarming

The Columbian
Published: September 16, 2012, 5:00pm

I was shocked at Mitt Romney’s insensitive, tactless comments following the tragic deaths of Ambassador Chris Stevens and other diplomats when Libyan fanatics stormed the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi. Romney’s knee-jerk remarks show us again not only how out of touch he is with international affairs but demonstrate his hawkish attitudes. If he is elected president, I am certain Romney would lead us into war again in the Middle East. Why else does he want to increase spending for the military by more than $2 trillion? I appreciate calm, cool, collected President Obama in situations like this new crisis.
