Clark County woman charged with manslaughter in Texas crash

Caroline Nygaard, 51, of Clark County was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of manslaughter for a January crash in Amarillo, Texas, that killed two 19-year-old women, according to Amarillo Connect, a TV station.

Early in the morning of Jan. 22, Nygaard was driving east on Amarillo Boulevard in a 2005 Chevrolet Tahoe and collided with a 2001 Cadillac, according to the TV station. Kaylin Pearson and Kerniece Johns, both 19, died at the scene of the crash.

Nygaard and her passenger were not injured.

Nygaard was booked into the Clark County Jail on Friday. Bail was not allowed.
