JONESBORO, Ark. (AP) — Arkansas State linebacker Qushaun Lee will sit out the Western Kentucky game because of a hit he leveled last weekend against Alcorn State.
The Sun Belt Conference on Wednesday announced the one-game suspension, based on its review of a personal foul in which Lee lowered his head while tackling Alcorn’s quarterback.
Lee wasn’t ejected but the league says it decided to suspend him after reviewing video of the hit. The Sun Belt says that Lee should have been ejected and that the single-game suspension was warranted.
Arkansas State appealed the suspension but a panel of the league’s board of directors voted to uphold the penalty.
