The Fort Vancouver National Trust is accepting entry applications for Vancouver’s 26th annual veterans parade.

Known officially as the Veterans Parade at Fort Vancouver presented by the Lough Legacy, it is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 10, rain or shine.

Parade applications are available online at Fort Vancouver National Site; at the Fort Vancouver National Trust office in the O.O. Howard House, 750 Anderson St.; or by calling the Trust at 360-992-1804. The deadline is Oct. 5.

The parade begins at the east end of Officers Row at East Reserve Street. With more than 120 entries and 2,500 individuals expected to march or ride, it is one of the largest Department of Veteran Affairs-sanctioned parades on the West Coast.

Past participants include veterans service organizations representing all branches of the service, local high school marching bands, several college and high school ROTC groups, Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops from throughout the region, equestrian units, and military and civilian vehicle collector clubs.

The parade is one of several Celebrate Freedom programs coordinated by the nonprofit Fort Vancouver National Trust.
