Heat’s Bosh: Ready for camp, injury ‘behind him’

MIAMI (AP) — Chris Bosh says the injury that almost kept him from last season’s NBA Finals is healed, though he’s still mindful that it could become a chronic problem if forgotten.

In an interview with The Associated Press, Bosh says he “thought it was over” when the Miami Heat trailed Indiana in last season’s second round of the playoffs, the series where he injured an abdominal muscle in Game 1. The Heat recovered in that series, and eventually, so did Bosh, who returned to play a key role in the Eastern Conference finals and NBA Finals.

Bosh says strengthening his abdominal area is still a priority, in an effort to avoid a recurrence.

The Heat open training camp on Saturday. Bosh is entering his 10th NBA season, as are fellow Heat stars LeBron James and Dwyane Wade.
