OLYMPIA — Nominations are being sought for a vacancy on the Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead Recreational Anglers Board, a citizen advisory group responsible for reviewing plans to improve sport fishing in the Columbia Basin.

Individuals may nominate themselves. The board is made up of nine people affiliated with recreational fishing organizations.

The vacancy is for the Southwest Washington position. The board’s main role is to advise the Department of Fish and Wildlife endorsement program, approved by state lawmakers in 2009.

The board meets at least three times a year to evaluate the program, which costs anglers on the Columbia River and its tributaries $8.75 at license renewal time.

Board members serve two-year terms, effective 2013 and can be reappointed.

Nominations need to be mailed by Oct. 31 to Jeff Korth, Columbia River Salmon and Steelhead Endorsement Program, 1550 Alder St. NW, Ephrata, 98823.

Nominations should include the nominee’s name, address, email address and telephone number; affiliations; name, address and telephone number of any organization submitting a nomination; references, and experience.

For more information, call Korth at 509-754-4624, ext. 224.
