BALTIMORE (AP) — The Minnesota Twins have recalled left-hander Pedro Hernandez from Triple-A Rochester, and he will make his 2013 debut Sunday against the Baltimore Orioles in place of injured right-hander Cole De Vries.

Hernandez, acquired from the Chicago White Sox last July in the Francisco Liriano trade, will be making his second major league start and appearance. He lasted four innings and took the loss July 18, 2012, at Boston for the White Sox.

De Vries was placed on the 15-day disabled list with a right forearm strain.

The Twins also activated right-hander Anthony Swarzak (left side rib fractures) from the 15-day DL.

After Saturday night’s game, they optioned left-hander Todd Robertson to Rochester. Robertson had appeared in two games this season.
