BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) — IndyCar has postponed next week’s Indianapolis 500 rookie orientation because of possible rain and chill.

No makeup date was announced Sunday for the one-day session at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. AJ Allmendinger, Conor Daly, Carlos Munoz and Tristan Vautier are scheduled to participate in the testing program that is required to be eligible to race in the Indy 500.

IndyCar President of operations Brian Barnhart said Sunday the league has been monitoring Indianapolis weather reports. They call for rain and temperatures below 50 degrees near the end of next week.
