LAKEWOOD — Police say a dispute over parking outside a Lakewood apartment complex led to a fatal shooting Sunday night that appears to be self-defense.

Lt. Chris Lawler told The News Tribune the shooter was not arrested but three friends of the dead man were arrested on suspicion of burglary and assault.

Detectives are still investigating but it appears the shooting victim and friends tried to force their way into an apartment.

A gun was found inside the apartment. A knife was found by the car where the man was found fatally wounded.
