H-RoC, an organization created to inspire more Clark County women to run for public office, will host its quarterly “cocktails and conversation” event 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. April 25 in the upstairs dining room of the Grant House, 1101 Officers Row.

The discussion will focus on the art of negotiation and mediation. Guest speakers include Clark County Humane Society Director Stacey Graham and collaborative law attorney Nancy Retsinas.

The event is free, and it will include complimentary appetizers; guests can buy their own cocktails. Seating is limited to 25. RSVP by emailing letstalk@h-roc.org.

H-RoC describes itself as a nonpartisan political action committee. Its name is short for the adage “The hand that rocks the cradle rules the world.” The group’s mission is to finance and mentor women running in local elections, including city council and mayoral races, as well as provide support for women once they’re in public office.
